ButterflyDreaming is designed around radical anonymity, ephemeral encounter, and the wellbeing of participants. These commitments raise genuine ethical questions — about consent, safety, content moderation, the responsibilities of an anonymous platform, and the role of AI in a space designed for reflective human encounter.
We have thought carefully about these questions and documented our current thinking openly at Butterfly Dreaming Ethics But we do not claim to have resolved everything — some of the tensions are genuinely difficult, and the framework is explicitly a working document rather than a final statement.
This category is the place to challenge, extend, or critique that framework. If you have expertise in safeguarding, therapeutic practice, platform ethics, law, or related fields your perspective is especially valuable here. If you are simply a thoughtful person who has read the ethics page and has questions or concerns, that is equally welcome.
