About the Participate category

ButterflyDreaming is a small, non-commercial, volunteer-led project at an early stage of development. It needs people — with a wide range of skills, perspectives, and forms of engagement — to help it grow from a well-documented idea into a working platform.

There are many ways to get involved. You might have knowledge of therapeutic practice, safeguarding, philosophy, or the arts. You might be a writer, poet, or scholar with a feel for the kind of symbolic material the Corpus needs. You might simply find the ideas compelling and want to follow the project’s development and contribute your perspective. You might also have technical expertise in areas like graph databases, web systems, AI moderation, or interaction design.

Financial support is also welcome. We draw attention to the discussion of the following point as it is particularly important: the Text-Graph — the growing body of co-created nodes that the platform produces — is public domain and available for use by any organisation or individual. External enterprises may, for example, use it for AI data training, or layer media and interactive elements over existing nodes. These uses are non-exclusive: the graph remains open to all, and no external use compromises or restricts the platform itself or anyone else’s access to it. This open architecture may generate indirect value and interest from organisations well beyond the platform’s immediate community. The project is working toward fiscal hosting through Social Change Nest CIC and the Open Collective platform, which will allow donations to be made transparently with full public visibility of how funds are spent. Details will be posted here as that arrangement is formalised.

If you are not sure whether you have something to offer, the answer is probably yes. Start a topic here describing who you are and what draws you to the project — or simply ask a question. This is also the place for any practical questions about how the platform works or how to navigate this forum.

The discussion here will hopefully complement the information set out at butterflydreaming.info/participate.html
